June 30

Well, as Rob and I get ready for our big vacation there is so much to do. Normally when I am off work we cancel respite care, but decided to use Rosa a couple days to get ready. This last year, because of Luke's severity, he qualified for respite care. It is when an aid or LVN come to the house to take care of a sick child, so that the parents get a break. Rosa was one of our first aids that came to the house and she quickly fell in love with my boy. We qualified for an aid 8 hours, five days a week. As Luke continued to be sick and the asthma and pneumonia got worse our Inland Regional case worker felt we needed a LVN to take care of Luke. Reluctantly, we switched and loss Rosa. We did still qualify for 6 days a month with Rosa, but need to use our LVN hours first. There have been a string of LVNs, but none that we have been really happy with or trust Luke with completely. Knowing how much Rosa loves Luke and that I trust her with him, I requested her for today and tomorrow, so Rob and I could get ready.

Luke was sooooo excited when he saw Rosa. He laughed and squealed with delight and went running to her. All day he was all smiles, cuddling and laughing. It is so nice to see someone who cares for my boy and that he loves right back. Rob and I were able to do our running around and work upstairs knowing that Luke was happy and in capable hands. Wish we could switch our hours back, but have been told that it is not possible. Trusting people with Luke has been one of my biggest challenges and so it is nice that God placed Rosa in our lives.
