Today we decided to go to Knott's Berry Farm to celebrate Jake's birthday. It was a beautiful day, but packed.
You'll notice everyone was all smile except Jake. It was a frustrating day, too many people, to much craziness. Turns out Knott's doesn't have the same policies as Disneyland and do not really cator to kids with special needs. My poor boy was overwhelmed and difficult to handle (I got a few new bruises and so did Staci). Mostly, I just felt bad, this day was supposed to be about Jake and he was miserable. It was a bitter sweet day. A good day with the girls, but harsh reminder that we are not a "normal" family, and can not always do the "normal" activities. I love my boy so much and just want him to be happy. I'll be honest in saying sometimes I wonder if I will ever know how to parent him to be happy and be the best he can.
