Luke has been in and out of the hospital more times than I care to count in his short 3 1/2 years. About a week ago, he started running a low grade fever, but his breathing was good, so we were not overly worried. Then Sunday, he started sounding a little raspy, and as usual he got worse quickly. Rob took him to the doctor on Tuesday, and the doctor took one look at him and called the ambulance to take Lu to the ER. I met Rob down there and he was diagnosed with pneumonia in his right lung. Thankfully there was no need for oxygen and I was hoping that would mean an antibiotic and then home. Unfortunately, the doctors at Loma Linda like to be overcautious and decided to admit him. I say unfortunately, but it was a good thing. They started the antibiotics and 24 hours later he sounds 100% better. It is never fun to be in the hospital, but was nice to know it wasn't that serious. Exactly 11 months ago to the day, Lu went into the hospital and we did not know if he would ever open his eyes again. Sitting in the hospital last night my mind went back to those days and how far my boy has come. It is impossible to put into words the fear we felt back then and the appreciation of life we feel now. After a short 30 hours isolation, hence my beautiful outfit, we are home as a family. As much as I hate reliving those days 11 months ago, it is always good to have a reminder of how truly amazing and powerful our God is.
