Jake is such a happy boy, most of the time. We struggle because his behavior is the most extreme and most difficult to deal with, yet when he smiles, it will melt your heart. Having him begin an SDC Preschool class this year, was a big change, but a great change. He has thrived in the smaller setting and having teachers that can deal with the behavior. One of the other best things about going to Sunshine is the fact that he gets to ride the bus. Jake gets up by 5:00 every morning to get dressed, eat and medication before his bus arrives at 6:15 am. He LOVES it and is aways all smiles when he sees the bus come around the corner. It had also triggered an obsession with buses, which he points out constantly. Jake thinks all bus drivers are named Sam, though and will yell if we try to say differently. I am just really proud of the growth he has made and have a new hope for the future. His life is not easy and Rob and I struggle how to best parent him. But as long as that smile shows up every once in awhile it is worth the trials.
