April 2

Rylee's open house has finally arrived, and she has been soooooooo excited! Ry really struggled with school when the school year began. The fast pace difficulty of the curriculum had her playing sick to get out of class. Rob and I were really beginning to worry. Then her amazing teacher figured out how to work with her and build her confidence. Mrs. Gabrielson emphasized her strong points and figured out how Ry learns. Soon Ry went from faking a stomach ache to not waiting to go to class. She really had a lot of fun doing the research project on penguins and could hardly wait to show us at open house. As a teacher I know that you have difficult students and I know Ry, with her ADHD and emotional outburst falls in that category. No matter how great of a teacher you are their are struggles. I have been amazed at the patience, skill and compassion of Ry's teacher this year. Open House was a blast, because I saw Ry's genuine love of learning. It is amazing seeing the difference a great teacher makes and only gives me added encouragement to make a difference in my students' lives.
