July 12 Vacation

The morning started off with a DeBoef church service at the campground. One of the second cousins, Heath, spoke and we sang songs. After the teaching was done the microphone was passed round to a member of each family to share what was going on in their family, what they needed prayer for, or how God has worked in their lives. It was a special time and great opportunity to learn more about the family that Rob loves so much.
Jake, of course refused to sit still so Rob walked with him and Luke for awhile and let Jake blow bubbles for awhile.
Jackie organizes the DeBoef campout and is a huge reason we were able to come this year. She made sure to get a family picture for us.
One of the final festivities was a bike/stroller parade. Since Ry did not have her bike (which was very upsetting to her) she decorated Luke's stroller. They used balloons, streamers and made tissue paper flowers.
The parade was a lot of fun and an unique experience. Ry loved it and is ready to go home and decorate her bike.

Luke continued to be a charmer. He has been all smiles and laughter this entire trip. Despite another rough day of seizure Luke continued to show his sweet and loving personality. He really did have most everyone mesmerized by those big blue eye.
It is incredible that two people started this huge gathering. Grandma and grandpa were at the campground everyday and loved seeing the family. They were so proud, as they should be, by all those that were at the campground and those who were unable to make it.

Ry was upset all day today that she didn't have a bike to go on a bike ride with the other kids. Uncle Ken came to the rescue by taking her on a double bike. It was amazing how everyone tried to help out with the kids. Especially after they saw what a handful they could be. Uncle Ken was the first to get Jake out of his "funk" when we arrived, saved us by taking a whining Ry on a bike ride with the other kids, and saved us tonight by allowing Jake to climb all over him, so Rob and I could relax by the campfire.
Misty and Tim were two other family members, cousins, who helped us tremendously with the kids. Misty had Luke laughing and smiling the entire weekend. And both Misty and Tim were great with Jake and tried to help keep him distracted. In this picture Tim and Misty had just got back from taking Jake on a walk to the lake. Notice Jake's huge smile. This is rare when he is so out of his comfort zone and it was so nice to see.
This really has been an incredible trip. We would never have been able to come without my parents' help. And we never would have made it through the week without family's help. Everyday I am amazed how God gives us the tools to live our lives. Rob and I have been so blessed with our families, it is nice to get to see and get to know more. Today was a really good day!
