City Of Hope

Today Ry and I walked with my friend Lisa to help raise awareness for breast cancer. Both Lisa's mom and sister are cancer survivors, so it is a cause close to her heart. There were over 10,000 people there and so much was running through my mind. As I saw all the signs people carried saying they were walking for someone who had passed away I thought of all the loves ones that have passed away in my life. So many amazing people that have gone on to join the Lord, while life continues here on earth. I was reminded of how short life is, yet the impact one person can make. Then there was the joy. So many survivors, so many people who fought and now give hope to others. My mind could not help but go back to my own situation and our daily battle with Tuberous Sclerosis. So many people face different trials, but the strength we gather from eachother along with the inspiration and hope is such a beautiful thing. I pray for all those battling today, those struggling with life and feeling like there is no hope. There is hope because of God's amazing grace. He did not cause the disease or the trial, yet by his grace we are able to continue on the journey and have hope for the future. A hope that one day we will join those loved ones in Heaven and they will smile at us saying how proud they are of the impact we continued to make here on earth. Finally, I couldn't help but think how cool it would be to one day have that many people in one place walking for Tuberous Sclerosis :). It makes me look forward to our walk in the spring and being able to continue battling for my kids and so many others that are fighting Tuberous Sclerosis.
