Every year, my dad asks Rob to play in the WMA golf tournament. It is a buisness thing, but Rob loves to go. Last year, both Rob and my dad missed the tournament because Luke was in the ICU. It really is incredible what a diference a year makes. Whenever it is in Monterey, the kids and I go too. This year we didn't want Ry to miss school and Staci had Hannah so we let Ry stay home with her auntie and just took the boys. It was so hard to leave my girl home, but a step up in Rob and I letting go a little bit. Our first day there Rob and I took the boys to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, one of our favorite places. Then on Monday, while Rob and dad golfed, my mom and I took the boys on a drive along the 17 mile stretch along the Pebble Beach Golf Course. Jake was so excited to look for seals, which we did see, but more importantly, both boys were all smiles. You see my boys are hard. Jake and Lu melt down over the littliest things and it is exhausting to take them anywhere. But Grammy is ALWAYS their saving grace and to have her undivided attention for the day was an incredible treat. And, it helps she was being extra sweet to Jake in an attempt to give me a break. I love my boys so much and it is rare to see HUGE smiles on both of their faces. It was a nice getaway, but it is really nice to be home with my whole family. Thanks mom and dad for another great trip with amazing memories. Mostly I will remember those smile and how much my boys adore their grammy and papa!
