Conference time is not something I look forward each year. Jake struggles academically. He is more than a year behind and I worry. What does the future hold for my boy? He is fortunate enough to have a great teacher that wants t succeed. We saw work that was scribbles and work that was actually work. It frightens me to know how far behind he is, but there us a glimmer of hope. Then there is Ry, I am so proud of my girl. She struggles, school is extremely difficult and her inability to focus is a HUGE obstacle. Yet she still managed to get 4 advances, 5 proficients and 5 basics. Although the 5 basics are discouraging it is not because she doesn't have the knowledge, it is because she struggles with test taking skills. This is something we are going to focus on, and hopefully those basics will go up. But, no matter what I am so proud of my kids. They struggle and nothing comes easy, but they fight. The are committed and want to succeed. Ry had to go with us for conferences today and she was sooooo stressed. She knew her grades and was worried about what Rob and I would say. We wanted to make sure she knew how proud we were of her so we asked her what she wanted for a reward. Starbucks was the winner. I am a proud mom!!!!"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him." Psalms 28:7
